Custom Weapons With .Max Animations

Question

Hello lads, Bean here. So I have a Halo 3 Assault Rifle model with arms and animations in a .Max file. So my question is, how do I apply this .Max file in the FPS Kit? Thanks!

Bean

If you have Max installed on your computer you can use .max files in unity as if they where model files, they just include empty game objects for the lights and cameras etc, but i find they are buggier than fbx exports

When exporting to FBX i find that old FBX formats like 2009 are less problematic and smaller in size than newer formats!

And that is why you don't start with such large project, work your way up don't try and make a AAA title when you can't even code a fire animation which is like 2 lines of code..

My reccomendation is to make a sandbox gme where you can begin to slowly implement aload of random animations and simple features then when you have learnt enough transfer your code to the fps game

Dont even consider multiplayer until you can call yourself a decent programmer

True........ just wanted to know how to put them in though. I've got my animations fixed, I just need to apply everything to the kit. The video tutorials don't go in depth on how to replace weapons.
