Alien Ant World: Recruiting

32 posts in this topic

Hello all,

This is AlienAntWorld.

Take a look at my game: Please login or register to see this link.

Id like to form a bigger team.

All business will be conducted via email. All business will be a signed contract. To protect myself and yourself. All on 1-3 pages. Payment structure will be discussed privately. It will either be by paid contract work, or very small percent of sales. Let's say the game makes $50,000. How much would that be in profit split among many people? Not much. The contract will be a pay scale depending on sales, or paid contract for each task with no sales percentage.

About me and my game: Alien Ant World is not just any generic shooter. It's a game crafted in pain, love, and passion lol. It's a dark game but it's probably suitable for all. I am a serious Indie developer, I have skills in modeling. All the models and textures that you see in game are custom built by me. I have a partner in the game. The character controller will either be modified or removed.

1:1-2 Animators/riggers(no mixamo) that is very important.

2: 1-2 Modelers.

3: Inventory specialist: What i mean by that is that when you place the inventory from the bag onto the character the actual fbx model shows on the char instead of colored mesh. For example a chest item that when equipped from the inventory shows up as an fbx model on the bones of the char and move with the char as a child or whatever you think is best.

4. Coder, or Networker.

You can Direct Message me here and I will give you my contact info. Will post some images later.

Thanks for taking a look, and I Hope everyone has success in game design.

You are trying to form a team to a game which is not going to get you any money. Sorry but this looks really creepy.

Respectfully I have never seen something so ugly. The textures and shaders are just weird - on the whole just bad.

Please don't be offended by my words, but if you want to create something interesting, you should accept frank points of view.

I wish you the best ++

I have to respect fully disagree. Each game has a different style. I'm not going for the generic fps look. People told me it's a good game. My style is completely different and shaders could be easily changed as well as lighting. I noticed a lot of negativity  on the forum, but I just wanted to see how people here would respond. People do have skills here but...thank you.

You can be as unique as you want, but i'm pretty sure we are not the only one who thinks this looks bad. I mean alien humanoid ants? wtf?

Just because something is unique, that doesn't mean everyone is going to like it automatically.

Ok. Ok. As I said - don't be offended. Excuse me but I have another point of view. I wish you the best. I hope that you will achieve what you are trying to do.

Show us some progress soon. Bye +

#antsforlife. Alien Ant weapon still looks better then the big budget games. I would pick the smilegun every time, what would a revolver do against the smilegun?

Its good to believe in yourself and your team.

With that said, Its also good to listen to critique.

You obviously still have alot to learn and theres no shame in that, but you have to accept that you cant just make a big game without the needed skills.

None of your games made even close to a million dollars. You guys actually Believe that  copying the  same formula will work and being bitter helps.  That is  the  difference. A good visionary for gamedesign is  the x factor here.

Please, take a deep breath and look over your project again. There is a lack of almost everything(except bugs) . Alright, you want to do something different, but even if you do not try to associate your game with any other out there, it cannot be a courtain to hide the lack of experience and dedication towards it. Generally talking the graphics are messy. I can probably associate it with one of the old console games, and no that's not a problem, but the way you present the things is:

The world lacks any detail. I actually like the style it's trying to present, it ends up like a mixed bag of someone doing a 5 hr marathon with little experience in hopes to build the next big million dollar game. First of all, if you truly wanted to make a million dollar game, you wold have atleast have the decency to write a long, well structured and split post explaining everything from A to Z people would like to know, and not "post some images later". I do not know at this point if this is a sign of laziness, or very, very strong lack of experience. You won't make a ton of money by just throwing some stuff together and then asking for a team like you would be the next big title developer that will get rich and be full of money without hard work. Most of us here worked for years, from one role to all, trying to fill their portofolios/made games on jams to advance, etc... . Deal with the fact that this cannot be done like magic. It needs work, much work, suffering, learning, perseverence, coming home every day to do your project for hours and keep going until the end. In my opinion, you are trying to reject the fact that you clearly need more experience before going to form a team and sell a game. Yes it might work, your project might make it to one million on steam probably if marketed and presented well, but not in any case will it be anything of valor with your current mentality and skillset towards it. I recomend you learn more of Unity. Learn your role as a team member, and do it well, as well as you can. Then, get back to your game, and finish it if you still feel like it. And no, the smile gun does not exactly look well compared to big budget titles, it makes me feel like I am at a gigolo meeting with people wearing only leopard and neon colored clothes. So take your time, and do it right, because no matter how hard you tell people your idea is good, they will not listen, when even the blind can see how much your currently presenented prototype lacks. No offense, but I had to say it for you to understand we are not just a bunch of haters gathered bashing people, we speak from facts and experience.

Your post has substance vendetta.  I fully understand game design is not a cake walk.

Almost all the videos on my youtube are old. You can play my  game on itch.io. I have a networked mutliplayer and single  player. It's not that I think you all are haters, I think it's just bitterness from past experiences in game design and how the scene is. A defeatist mindset  is not something I have, so that makes me a bit different. I am making a  big world, and comparing my game is comparing  apples to oranges in The fps scene. There are some stuff I need to work on, but the game will progress.

best of luck trying to get this game to progress.. I tried it out for about 5 mins on itch.io and it looks very very weird to me, I don't personally like it at all but its good that you believe in your project..

Well apples can obviously be compared to oranges. I never understood that statement. Your game idea sounds 'unique' to say the least, but the style could definitely be improved on (as everyone has already said). There's a reason why you never see games like what you showed, and it's because it doesn't work. I took one glance and this post and thought it was a troll, but it almost seems like you're serious (and if you are serious, you really need to go back and rethink your whole design methods. I'd be more than happy to help you with that, as long as we both have an understanding).

50 000 dollars look like a dream, its more looking like a prototype of a game , you should really take some advice given here,

take them to make your game better, really .

Love the motivation you have man, but I'm going to give my completely honest opinion. Before that, I have played the game on itch.io so I'm not coming without any experience.

You need to really take some advice from this thread. Your art is shit and does not look good what so ever. It feels and looks like I'm playing a prototype from the early 2000's. Now, if you said this was a concept I could dig it. But The only thing unique is the art. In the end it's just another FPS.
