  1. Hello Guys! We are proud to present you our Unity FPS game "Sounds of War", which has reached an early access version. Now we are announcing an closed gameplay session on the 4th of January this year for everyone that has experience in gameplay testing and is capable of writing a constructive review. To apply, post a reply with your application (Name, Age, Experience in gameplay testing) and we will be proud to invite you to this session. We will give you a testing account in form of username and password and you will be able to log on during the 4th January (consider GMT+1 time). The game will later be a Future versus Past game. We have a most likely stable client for this session. You can see, that we already have a login, player stats and a working clan system. The game features skill based recoil control, 3 WIP game modes (more will be added, but only tdm is for the gameplay session because it is the most stable mode), a fast in-game weapon addon menu and many more. Keep in mind that the game is still in an alpha stage. Here is some gameplay footage: if you want to know more about OppositeDev and want to follow our game development progress check out our Facebook and indiedb page: https://www.facebook.com/SoundofWarTheGame http://www.indiedb.com/games/sow You can also check out my twitter page, where i'll post updates about sow and my own games: https://twitter.com/pokeyoshi3
  2. Hi, in this video I show you the alpha version of my new mobile game about dots! I don't know how to call it yet so if you have any idea please leave them in the comments You can see how i made it here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4zevqe9aqi5rGWD11MqoaEhvGWO7KUsU video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPRx2jXhlR4
  3. My hard drive crashed on my main PC, but I'm trying to get a game trailer out for my game Block Squad (for a project). Since I only have a laptop to use at the moment, I can't get any good, lag free, gameplay. Can someone record some stuff and send it to me? It doesn't have to be HD and I don't care what's going on in the video, as long you're playing the game (hopefully you can find a match... there are certain times no one is online.) I'll give you credit. You can use "123" as the username and password if you don't want to register. I'll give you a dollar or something thanks Ad free link (it's also on Newgrounds and Kong): http://blocksquad.atwebpages.com/Webplayer/index.html
  4. These are just my opinions and I thought it a good subject for discussion. I believe gameplay is the single most important aspect of game design, and I have been studying it for at least 10 years. I've figured out what "Fun" is which took me along time. For me there have been some landmark games, which I've studied and learnt from: The addictive qualities of Everquest sometimes called "Evercrack". http://www.cbsnews.com/news/everquest-or-evercrack/ or http://www.nickyee.com/eqt/addiction.html Minecraft which proved once and for all that graphics are NOT an important part of gameplay. DayZ, which is either by design or fluke very special, far more special than any of its derivatives imho. The single most important part of DayZ gameplay is that while playing, things are getting better, you actually spend your time just trying to make things better for yourself. In most games things are getting worse and the game escalates, often to ridiculous proportions, the mobs get bigger and harder your weapons and armour get more powerful. DayZ is different, you can be playing for months and in the blink of an eye you're back on the beach as a newbie. There are no quests or missions in DayZ, no NPC's with question marks above their head, you make your own missions up, if you find a car that just needs a wheel, you're on a mission to find a wheel. It is no accident that zombies run at exactly the same speed as the player, it probably was a fluke that they get stuck on geometry which enhances game play. I've become a bit obsessed with "DayZ" game design because its so elegant: It's not the zombies that kill you, they actually do very little damage, you die in DayZ because of a series of unfortunate incidents. DayZ is not quite there though: Once you have a tent and some spare gear, it ceases to be a survival game and becomes a PvP FPS game, and you're back to the escalating arms race again. You need a overly powerful machine to play it because of the game engine. Finding a server is a pain. The 24 hour day night cycle is too long. Map size and server population is too varied. Too many bugs and glitches. I think a small indie team even a one man team could use some of the DayZ game design elements to make a survival game. Doesn't have to be post apocalyptic zombies, bit sick of them tbh. Could be anything Invading Aliens, Killer Robots, Vampires etc. or just NPC humans. Survival is Survival, you could be a bank robber on the run, escaped prisoner, stranded on an alien planet. As long as you "fully" understand DayZ gameplay. Rule No1: The mobs run at the exact same speed Rule No2: The mobs don't Shoot you Rule No3: You have to stop to heal / bandage: related to Rule No1 and many more....
  5. Hello everyone, i thought that this one can be an interesting topic. You just have to add your own gameplay video(pc, xbox or ps3) here. You may also add funny bugs or bloopers(of games only) here. For Example, here is mine : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQitYBTKFLs Add yours and lets see who's got the best of all!
  6. Today Rockstar Games published a new gameplay video of GTA V What you think about it?
  7. Here you guys go, I know you've been asking about screenshots or gameplay.... I did not include slender as I'm not sure the main enemy will remain slender. This is a side project demonstrating what the game mechanics will look/feel like. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=y9hNp--oEEs
  8. Afro-Spirit This is a game I started a while ago. You will become Afro-Ninja who must fulfil an unexpected prophecy. You travel to a man named Kejugi to be taught the way of kung-fu (that becomes the tutorial stage.) Later in time, a sacred jar containing the spirit of an evil demon breaks, causing it to be released and escape into the world. The only way to send him back to to retrieve 30 gems that wield the power to send his spirit in to an eternal afterlife. So the objective of the game is to retrieve the gems and send the evil spirit to his eternal doom. Features fun gameplay and great mo-cap animations thanks to Mixamo Collect 150 coins in each level to unlock a secret stage Awesome royalty-free music provided by Kevin Macleod at Incompetech.com Slow Motion script by BlackStorm Pretty much everything else is by me (of what I can remember...) I'm planning on adding more objects and scenery to liven the beach level. I also need to make my moving platforms work and add enemies to the scene. More levels in the future! Link to the video:
