  3. Thank you! You will find some similarities between Paxitium and other survival games, but the goal of the game is completely different. It is more of a territory and progression based game set around WWI. As for the KOS, we cannot really mitigate that since that is more of a "community issue". We cannot force players to not kill each other whenever they want to, but for custom servers, which we are planning to support, you will be able to modify many settings including PvE/PvP, day cycle length, starvation/dehydration rate, health modifiers, item drop rate, and much more to make each server feel fresh. We will not be adding zombies either, but will instead come up with a creative new challenge for players not commonly seen in other survival games.
  4. Yeah, we were not really aware of a town named Luton when we named it, but now it's pretty much too late since we branded the name everywhere basically. It would be too much of a hassle to rename the team, so we will only do so if it becomes a big problem.   5. Thank you very much! I know it looks like any ordinary survival game at this point, but I can assure that there are many other features to be implemented (and also far from GOTY :P). Thank you! We are planning to change the art style slightly in the future with a "graphics overhaul". You may have noticed that there are some inconsistencies in the world, such as the terrain being textured, but the houses and other props having solid colors. We are planning to go in the direction of making stylistic textures similar to Overwatch, but somehow making it work with low poly. It will be a hard task, but that is why we are putting that aside for now. Anyway, I will keep you in mind if I need any extra help. Thanks!
  6. Hello there! Paxitium is a work-in-progress survival game set in the early 1900s. Facing obstacles ranging from natural needs such as hunger and thirst to dangerous wildlife and unfriendly human NPCs, the player must choose a role and survive in the wilderness. Eventually through venturing multiple neighboring islands, the player is able to discover numerous clues related to the background of the world they are in. Basic gameplay will include construction of structures for protection from enemies, looting items from abandoned towns, and more. Cooperation between players is highly encouraged, and the servers will offer extensive customization to settings such as PvP/PvE, day cycle length, difficulty of AI, and much more, to create a fresh experience for players. Everything that you see within these update videos are highly work-in-progress unless stated otherwise. Constructive criticism will also be highly appreciated.   7. Does it crash every time you hit the play button? 50% of the time? I would take a look at your Unity log after it crashes and scroll all the way down.   8. Yeah, regarding cheaters there isn't much you can do about it in Photon (as far as I know of). I don't think you can implement server-sided checks for such things as god mode, since the "master client" controls all of that and he could cheat himself. Provided that the master client doesn't cheat, you can definitely do some checks here and there and pretend that client is the server. However, you will then run into more problems once that client disconnects and the master client switches to another person. The most reliable approach is probably coming up with a kicking or banning system and/or a password protected server so you can manually filter out those cheaters yourself.   9. Photon is good for a quick setup, but it really lacks the security that a server-client model would have, since clients have direct connection to each other. If you plan on having a game that is competitive and requires quick timing (like Counter-Strike), you will definitely need something like Forge. Edit: Seems like most of the Asset Store reviews say that this product is good, but has some issues with stability. I would still consider trying this out, though.
  10. You should decrease the shadow normal bias on the directional light to get rid of those shadow gaps. That bridge looks pretty cool though.

  20. Hello folks, We are looking for some talented map designers who can model props and design some maps for our game called Paxitium. More info is down below. Our maps will be relatively large, pretty much consisting of many 3km x 3km islands. What is expected from you: At least 1 year of experience in Unity AND a modeling program of your choice Ability to create things quickly (within 1-2 week for an island), and develop good looking maps. Must design maps by an illustration, and share it with the team before creating it. Your skill is to place prefabs in the editor AND create prop and other environmental assets as well. We actually haven't known about a town named Luton until we searched it up after we decided on the team name, but I didn't know that it had a bad reputation until now. Hopefully people won't make a deal out of it, since as William said above, it's a combination of our last names (since we are co-founders and we ran out of name ideas).
