  1. I'm also having the same issue, the gun is staying still but everything els is moving. What's going on?
  2. So here's the deal, basically in my game i'm having a huge open world and am having the player spawn at a random spawnPoint, in the open world. But the thing is is that i'm using GameObject.FindGameObjectsWithTag to find the spawn points (them i'm adding them in a array) I'm having my player instantiate at one of the spawn point in the array, only thing is I keep getting this message: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object Spawn Manager.Spawn () (at Assets/Spawn Manager.js:16) Spawn Manager.Start () (at Assets/Spawn Manager.js:8) I checked within the code and am very confused, i'm sill learning this stuff and to the people who really know this, this question probably sounds stupid. But I still can't find the problem that Unity is talking about, I have a very short and simple script. Here it is: var spawnPoints : GameObject[]; // Array for Player's spawn var PlayerPrefab : GameObject; // Player Prefab to spawn function Start(){ spawnPoints = GameObject.FindGameObjectsWithTag("PlayerSpawn"); Spawn(); } function Spawn(){ var obj : GameObject = PlayerPrefab; var pos: GameObject = spawnPoints[Random.Range(0, spawnPoints.length)]; // Randomize Spawn Points Instantiate(obj, pos.position, pos.rotation); } See? Not much. The SpawnPoints I currently have in-game are tagged with "PlayerSpawn" but I know that's not the issue. And I'm sure i'm being just stupid with the issue here and i'm also sure that there's a easy way around this but that's why i'm asking for help, (So I can learn this stuff and get better) If anyone can help me figure this out much would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. WOW there are some ass holes on here huh? Hey man, don't let people's opinions discourage you. Sure there are lots of zombie fps on here but shit man, were all just game devs having some fun. Can't wait to see the progress on this, and don't be discouraged by people. When someone hears about another Zombie Survival Game, they think of just another Zombie Survival Game, but once your game gets big and exciting, then everyone gets excited for it. Keep up the good work my friend!
  4. Hey there, so i'm getting ready to add multiplayer to my game and am finally going to ask a question that has been confusing me for a while... How exactly does Photon work? I know, I know, this is one of the stupidest questions you've probably heard on this forum but I'm still confused; I know that photon is to help add multiplayer to your game but how does it work? Does it set up the multiplayer for me? Do I need to set up the servers themselves? I know I could just watch the tutorials but i'd figure I'd just ask the question so I could get a quick answer. So what exactly does it do? When I add it is the multiplayer all ready? I'm just confused on how i'll be setting it up. Thanks.
  5. Ok, thanks Ocular, i'm not spectacular at coding so i'ts still a bit confusing (script wise anyway) but i'll be able to figure it out. Thanks man! Best of luck on your future projects.
  6. So I make sure that all the players in the world are tagged as arrays in the zombie's ai, then the one that's closest becomes the zombies main target?
  7. So I can't find any solutions on this and would like to know, i'll be working on and implementing the multiplayer mode into my zombie game soon, and would like to know how exactly is it that this is achieved. Do I need to edit the script or is it something els? I have zero experience when it comes to multiplayer and etc. so some advice would be nice, thanks.
  8. I think this is a old post but GameJolt.com isn't that bad
  9. I'm not sure why, as it's not a huge deal but just thought I'd say thanks to everyone on these forums for a blast overs the last couple years! I've made friends, seen people get kicked off and banned, and just experienced crazy things in general. This site really is a community, like a small little town or something, but really, thanks for so much fun.
  10. Haha no, lol Just thought they were doing a good job for their first update, not amazing or anything spectacular but just thought it looked like fun.
  11. These guys have just started making this new game, not very realistic but still looks like fun, It could be something big if they keep working on it but hell it looks like fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCh2EFee0_A Check it out when you can
  12. Hey, thank you for both of the comments and even after doing some more research i'll probably do it with triggers, or, spawning when getting close to a area. Thanks for the help guys!
  13. I'm sorry to hear about your family's troubles. Stay Strong my friend. Even though horrible things happen in life, it's always possible to push through them. And those events over time will make you stronger, and make you into a even better person. Also trust me dude, with all this going on you don't need to worry about updating your game man. Do whatever you need to do man, stay strong. Best wishes to your family.
  14. Basically for my open world survival game, I have a huge map and a big open world... my only problem is I have the zombies all ready and everything, AI is great. I just need a way to spawn them randomly all over the open world. I don't really care how hard it'd be to do, I just want some suggestions on the best way ( with as little lag as possible ) to spawn them around the world. Should I have it spawn a random amount then stop for a certain time? Will I have to drag game objects and spawn points all over the world? What do you guys think? Anything is helpful. Thanks!
