About Me I would like to share with you a project that I have been working on for the past two years. As with all of us here who are passionate about gaming I wanted to create my own game ever since I started playing games. The idea of creating your own worlds and experiences that others interact with has always fascinated me. The only problem is that I do not know how to write a single line of code. But with the help of accessible engines such as Unity and a lot of research (Google, YouTube, Forums, Unity Docs, Asset Store) I was able to make this happen. There were dark times where I wanted to give up when I was unable to solve a bug or make something work the way I wanted it to work and there were those “aha!” moments that provided such a surge of excitement and motivation. It was difficult starting out as many laughed at the prospects of me making a game and looking at what other developers and professionals are making with those amazing looking games had admittedly affected my confidence knowing that I will not able to compete or my game won’t be good enough. In addition with life throwing those challenging moments that we all have to deal with at some point only added to the struggles. But with a lot of self-motivation I was able to continue and finish my project. I do have a full time job so I worked on this in the evenings and weekends. Yes I did have to sacrifice playing the latest games or watching movies and other things but the drive to complete it was far more thrilling and engaging. So Cubemetry Wars is a chaotic and fast paced arcade game where you survive endless waves that test your skills. It offers classic arcade gameplay that has been inspired by one of my favourite series Geometry Wars. I do not wish to bore you with a wall of text but if you have any questions please feel free to ask! I hope you enjoy playing the same way I enjoyed making it. There are no IAP but there are two versions. Free one does have adverts but the full one removes adverts and gives access to the level editor. I Look forward to your feedback, thoughts and comments! I am just glad I am finally able to share this. Thank you.
  2. i am having trouble using the joystick script to rotate my character according to the joystcik position .. i don t know where i am going wrong so please help me .. i ve used the scripts from this channel - http://www.devination.com/2013/09/unity-touch-joystick-player-movement.html ive modified it a little bit but it doesnt seem to work .. heres what ive changed - void ApplyDeltaJoy() { switch(joystickType) { case JoystickType.Movement: troller.Move (player.forward * playerSpeed * Time.deltaTime); float checkrot = troller.gameObject.transform.rotation.y; // TO rotate the player according to the joystick POSITION.. i have no clue why it isnt working if ( joyDelta.x > 0 ) { checkrot = 0; } if ( joyDelta.x < 0 ) { checkrot = 180; } if ( joyDelta.y > 0 ) { checkrot = 90; } if ( joyDelta.y < 0 ) { checkrot = -90; } break; case JoystickType.LookRotation: pitch -= Input.GetTouch(touch2Watch).deltaPosition.y * rotateSpeed * Time.deltaTime; yaw += Input.GetTouch(touch2Watch).deltaPosition.x * rotateSpeed * Time.deltaTime; //limit so we dont do backflips pitch = Mathf.Clamp(pitch, -80, 80); //do the rotations of our camera player.eulerAngles += new Vector3 ( pitch, yaw, 0.0f); break; case JoystickType.SkyColor: Camera.mainCamera.backgroundColor = new Color(joyDelta.x, joyDelta.z, joyDelta.x*joyDelta.z); break; } }
  3. Hello everyone, I am currently developing a game called Baboon Doom. It is a simple game for iOS and Android devices. Here is a video link to my game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb0D6bsICu4 The concept is simple, you tap and hold left to move left and vice versa in order to dodge falling rocks whilst you pick up coins. The more coins you get, the faster the rocks fall. Coins can also be used to buy need characters in the Store. There is also a Jetpack that when picked up, allows you to fly up into the air and pick up more coins and a heart that makes you temporarily invincible. The black square at the top of the video allows you to disable all sound when tapped, but I still need to make the design for it. The app will be free, but I will have to put ads in. I'll try to make the ads not so annoying :/. There is still a bit of work I need to do, but I just wanted to get everyone feedback. Thanks everyone.

  6. Sooo it's "back to school" season right now and I'm looking to get a new computer! First, I wanted the retina macbook pro 15 or 13 but they never updated it with haswell, and I've been waiting for like 5 months now...! And rumors say that it will get a update in oktober!!! So I thought maybe I should go the "build a pc" way and choose components, but is it really necessarily to have that much power for just making android games and some league of legends?! I have no idea what to choose, mac or pc?! Money is no problem here so dont say "get a pc bcz mac is expensive"! Btw does this sound good? GTX 760 4770K intel 180 gb SSD Does unity use hyperthreading? Will it be faster or can I just get a 4670K? thanks!
